SHIVER ME TIMBERS - IT'S PIRATE MONTH
Release Date: Friday 29 July 2016
Ahoy, me hearties! Prepare for a month ‘o ruckus, hoots and hollers and tales of the sea as the SeaQuarium is taken over by a band of pirates!
From 1st-31st August, guests can bring their lads and lasses to SeaQuarium Rhyl where they can join in the Pirate Month celebrations. There will be a variety of fun activities including flag making, storytelling and lots more swashbuckling fun and games.
SeaQuarium Commercial Manager, Amanda West said: "Pirate Month is always one of the most popular events that we have here at the aquarium — particularly with our younger guests, but also amongst the staff. For most people the prospect of having to dress up would fill them with dread, but our staff can't wait to get out of their uniforms and into their pirate’s clothes — they look forward to it all year round."
Guests will also need to help our pirates to choose the Seal Captain in the daily themed seal shows taking place in Dead Man’s Cove. The new interactive family seal show will be running every day during Pirate Month and can be seen daily at 1 o’clock and 3 o’clock all throughout August.
As well as all the aquatic displays and the spectacular outdoor Sea Lion Cove, guests will also get the chance to buy a treasure map for a small fee and take part in a hunt around the centre to uncover some ‘bounty’ of their very own.
Guests are also invited to join the Captain’s Craft Club which will be open throughout the month and will provide a variety of hands-on activities such as creating a unique pirate flag!
Admission tickets are valid all day, so guests can come and go as often as they like with a hand stamp. There is also a gift shop and Driftwood Café which are open daily to everyone.
SeaQuarium is open daily from 10am with last admission at 5pm. Standard admission prices are £9.50 for adults and £8.50 for children. Further information is available from SeaQuarium’s official website: www.seaquarium.co.uk or by telephone on 01745 344660.
